This is the story about a premature baby by the name of Ayla. It relates the challenges she had to overcome from being born at twenty-four weeks gestation. From the three months spent at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, where she endured the uphill struggles of infection and lung problems, to the one month at Victoria General Hospital, where she progressed quickly. Then finally home and to a journey of new beginnings.
The story is told by her grandfather yet written in a way that reflects her perspective so that the wording is appropriate to the story. Information was gathered from many visits to the hospitals, phone calls and by talking to the doctors and nurses that were involved with Ayla’s special care.
“Out of difficulties grow miracles.”
